A Night (or Two!) to Remember: Celebrating Recognition at Two Prestigious Awards Events – January 2025
The last months of 2024 were just a whirlwind of excitement, gratitude, and a touch of sparkle as I attended not just one, but two incredible awards ceremonies. Both nights celebrated small businesses and the amazing individuals behind them, and I feel so honoured to have been recognised alongside such inspiring entrepreneurs.
The East Midlands Small Business Awards
The first stop on this unforgettable journey was the East Midlands Small Business Awards—a prestigious event that celebrates the hard work, creativity, and resilience of small business owners across the region. I was thrilled to be a finalist in not one, but four categories, including the coveted New Small Business of the Year.
I can’t quite put into words what it felt like to hear my name called as 2nd place in the New Small Business category, competing against some truly amazing businesses. For a business that started as a side hustle from the corner of my living room, this recognition was nothing short of life-changing. It’s a testament to the vision, determination, and late nights that have shaped my journey so far.
The night was filled with incredible stories of success, resilience, and innovation. A huge congratulations to Team Prom and Roots Coffee Lounge for their well-deserved wins—they were absolutely amazing and set the bar so high!
The Chad Excellence Awards
No sooner had the glitter settled on the first awards night, it was time to bring out the sparkles again for the Chad Excellence Awards. This event celebrated local businesses and individuals making a difference in our community.
I was delighted to achieve 2nd place in the Professional Service category—a huge milestone for me and my business. To be recognised for the work I love doing and the impact it has was truly humbling. It was a room full of inspiring individuals, and I felt so proud to stand among them.
A special shoutout goes to my superstar friend Gemma at ReNew Laser Clinic, who absolutely smashed it by winning her category! Her hard work, dedication, and incredible services make her such a deserving winner. It was so heartwarming to celebrate alongside her and share in the excitement of the night.
Reflecting on These Milestones
These award nights have reminded me of how far my business has come in just a few short years. What started as a small idea and a lot of hope has grown into something sustainable, rewarding, and impactful. I am incredibly grateful for the recognition, but even more so for the clients, supporters, and fellow business owners who have been part of my journey.
If these nights taught me anything, it’s that hard work and staying true to your purpose pay off. I’m leaving these events more motivated than ever to continue supporting small business owners, sharing their stories, and helping them thrive through creative and impactful social media strategies.
